Achievable accuracy and surface roughness parameters
Explanation for the table:
- IT (International Tolerance)
Accuracy grade according to ISO 286. The lower the number, the higher the precision (IT5 — high precision, IT12 — roughing) - For gears, the accuracy grade and surface roughness are specified for the involute (the working surface of the tooth)
- Ra (arithmetic average roughness)
The primary surface roughness parameter according to GOST 2789. The lower the value, the smoother the surface finish.
